Hi, stitchy friends!
Happy New Year! It’s that time when people have grand ideas of what is to come for the coming year, and I’m guilty of falling into that mind trope. I’ve got a couple changes, and that involves you!
I’ve had a mailchimp newsletter for a couple years, and last year I started a blog on Wix. Let me tell you, those are a mess. Both of those platforms have restrictions and problems that I’m frankly tired of trying to figure out. Instead of being buried in search results on how to fix alignments and adjusting certain settings, or in Wix’s case, how to avoid all the AI crap they throw at you, I decided to make my approach a lot simpler. This decision is also because of Meta’s stance on AI regarding scraping and implementing AI bots on their platforms (Facebook, Instagram). So, I’m moving over to Substack!
Substack is a newsletter & blogging platform. Some writers have subscription models, but I won’t be doing that here. (That’s what my patreon is for!) I’ll be able to share my blog & newsletters in a clean layout, and you’ll be able to engage and comment! If you’ve been following along, you know how important the stitching community is, and this platform can accommodate us! I will still be posting deep dives about stitching, showcasing my favorite patterns, interviewing all the cool people in our industry, and sharing when I drop new stuff and collaborations!
How does this affect you?
You’ll still be getting BAD Stitch content and updates, it will just be coming from a new platform! These posts will still come to you via the email you signed up with on either Mailchimp or Wix. You can also pull up all the blog posts on the Substack website or app.
You don’t have to do anything but if for any reason you don’t want to hang around anymore, you can always unsubscribe. All previous blogs & interviews from my old Wix site are easily found on my Substack page.
If you like taking surveys, I have a Welcome Survey to learn a little bit about you, and if you’d like to drop suggestions of what kind of content you’d like to see me tackle!
I look forward to seeing you over on Substack! Take care and happy stitching!
Amanda
Welcome to Substack, Amanda 😁
